Author and philosopher Aurélien Bellanger and producer Julien Gosselin imagine a show about contemporary mythologies of Europe. For the French duo, the end of the millennium was marked in Europe by the digging of two tunnels. The first one, that of CERN, at the French‑Swiss border, is the seat of a huge particle accelerator. The second one, the Channel Tunnel, removes the sea that divides Europe to turn it into on symbolic continent. Once a miracle solution, these tunnels have today become the name of unsolvable cooperation problems. What happened between 1993 and 2007 for the will to build a continent of gentleness and welcome end up as that of an exploding world?
