Festival Pays de Danses 2022

To close this edition, the festival has scheduled the world première of All over Nymphéas by French-born Emmanuel Eggermont, the muse of Raimung Hoghe, an incredible choreographer, dancer and writer who recently passed away. In this choreography, Emmanuel Eggermont takes inspiration from Claude Monet’s Water Lilies, in which he painted the pond in his garden as the sole motif. The movements are based on the ‘all over’ painting technique; they are subtle, pure, refined and use the entirety of the space on stage. The musical textures by composer Julien Lepreux accompany the five actors, who gradually trace all the facets of a dreamlike, multicoloured landscape on the stage. The choreography is at once minimalist and spectacular!
