Blind
Hendrickx Ntela / Compagnie Konzi
- Duur: 40'
- Location : La Cité Miroir
Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles
Born at the turn of the third millennium in the poor neighbourhoods of Los Angeles, krump is one of the most recent forms of urban dance. Made up of movements charged with tension, this style stands out for its controlled intensity and its expression of powerful emotions – joy, anger or frustration – and is built on one founding principle: to let one’s voice emerge.
In Blind, Hendrickx Ntela and Pierre Dexter Belleka, choreographers and performers, bring together five krumpers from Belgium, Spain, France and Senegal. Sometimes working blindfolded, they sharpen their other senses and create a singular physical language, where their creative energy arises from their improvisations and personal experiences.
Through the expressive power of krump, Blind offers a sensory and political journey in which dance becomes a way to speak out, to resist, and to find one’s own voice in a world shaped – and constrained – by its limits.
