One Saturday morning, a man wakes up and, to his horror, discovers that the world around him has completely changed.
Everything is different. Everything is unrecognizable.
Everything he thought he knew has evaporated.
Nothing remains of the old world, except for a few lingering memories.
Lost, he turns to a strange start-up that might help him overcome the despair engulfing him: a futuristic company that manipulates its clients’ memories.
After all, why should we remember the painful moments of our lives?
A breakup? Erased.
An unbearable loss? Erased.
A broken friendship? Erased.
With Zeitgeist (meaning “the spirit of the time”), it is now possible to alter or erase traumatic memories directly, allowing one to enjoy a present freed from past traumas.
But will the ghosts of the past, stubborn as they are, let themselves be defeated so easily?
With Bucket List, director Yael Ronen and composer Shlomi Shaban take us to the edge of a musical hallucination, oscillating between Broadway-style glamour and bittersweet tones, where the shattered intrigues of the past suddenly resurface.
