For over a hundred years, Peter Tchaikovsky’s ballet “The Nutcracker” has held a firm place in the theater and music culture worldwide. Every winter, young and old a look forward to the opportunity to once again immerse themselves in the magical atmosphere of this ballet.
The Italian ensemble, hailing from the “cradle of European dance,” presents one of the most successful works of classical ballet. Audiences can admire a beautiful stage spectacle, lovingly preserved in tradition, yet skillfully and delicately balanced with a touch of Modern choreography and contemporary forms of expression. The dancers’ exceptional classical ballettraining is evident from the very first scenes, as are the stage design and costumes, which highlight the enchanting beauty of the world’s most popular Christmas story.
Thanks to Tchaikovsky’s music and the creative talent of the ensemble, the audience enters a wonderful fairy-tale world in which puppets come to life and dance, the armed mouse troops retreat under the pressure of the toy army, and each of us is capable of performing miracles, especially when in love—at least during Christmas.
