Affected by the aberrations of our time, choreographer Thomas Hauert returns to the Festival with a piece that breaks radically with the dynamics that distinguish him. In the heart of a set designed by Chevalier-Masson, the six dancers, including Thomas Hauert himself, cohabit with Thirteen Harmonies, a work for violin and keyboard by John Cage. In contradiction with the prevailing profitability and consumerism, the bodies slow down, become loose, hesitant, freed from their obligation to efficiency. An extreme meticulousness shapes suspended gestures, unfulfilled impulses, desperate embraces that oscillate between the need to communicate and inner withdrawal. The members of the ZOO company stir up the instinct for life that arises despite the resignation of the spirit. They reappropriate time and question the possibility of the aftermath.
