Questioning strangers and relatives, the ethnologist Jean Rouch accompanied by sociologist Edgar Morin takes us back to the summer of 1960 to reveal the daily life, aspirations and injuries of men and women, students and workers. This Chronicle of a summer does not only question the “truth” of these people, but also invites us to reflect on how cinema can tell us the reality. The actress and director Justine Lequette draws inspiration from this film and reproduces some key passages. She then transposes these questions to the present day.
