Louis, a young author, returns after years of absence. He wants to tell his mother, sister, brother and sister-in-law of his impending death: they still live in the village where he grew up.

Jean-Luc Lagarce died of AIDS at 38 years of age. His play, Juste la fin du monde, is both modest and political and treats illness as a negative, without ever naming it. Hugo Favier has admired this text for many years and is directing it as the first play of his career. He invites us to enjoy a carnal encounter with theatrical writing. We witness their overwhelming and illusory attempt to put reality into words, in a play that combines silence and uninhibited lyricism. Returning to this initial society – the family – and creating a funny and moving show from this about the difficulty of communicating an emotion.
