Na het ontleden, analyseren en demystificeren van de spelling in La Convivialité, richten Jérôme Piron en Arnaud Hoedt zich met KEVIN op de Belgische school, een broeinest van sociale ongelijkheid.

After dissecting, analyzing, and demystifying spelling in La Convivialité, Jérôme Piron and Arnaud Hoedt take on with KEVIN the Belgian school system, a driver of social inequalities.

When we talk about school, sometimes images come to mind – as portrayed by cinema – of teachers with unwavering dedication, whose personality is a lesson in itself, images of educators passionate about their profession, of school administrations committed on all fronts to defend their students, who fight every day until exhaustion, images of involved parents to make learning more enjoyable, of inspiring students… Yet, in Belgium, the school system is a champion of social segregation. So here, it won’t be about them. Here, it will be about Kevin. Because school, for Kevin, didn’t work at all. Because when we talk about school, we always talk about the fish that got away, but never about the net.

In a relaxed performance, the two former French teachers take a naïve but well-researched look at its foundations, values, and challenges, finally asking the question we’ve all asked ourselves at some point: “But what’s the point of school?”
