La Fracture

Yasmine Yahiatène
16/04/2023 22/04/2023
  • Location : Théâtre de Liège

Yasmine Yahiatène stands alone on the stage and narrates her story as a way of understanding it. Using a combination of archives and videos, the actress revisits her Algerian, Kabyle and colonial roots with sparse words, as well as her fragmented relationship with her father, who became an alcoholic after his exile, and discovers the common denominators: taboo, shame, silence. Thanks to the fictional nature of theatre, she reinvents a gentler past that can be accepted as an ode to resilience, in which the personal becomes political.
