In a not-so-distant future, a human race – a mirror of our own? – stands on the brink of extinction. Almost nothing remains of the world they once inhabited, except for abandoned monuments, solitary and surreal, like the last witnesses of their passage through landscapes reclaimed by nature. And so, these last humans tell their story to the first humans – to us? –speaking of what they built, and of what they so desperately lacked to prevent collapse.

Inspired by Olaf Stapledon’s revolutionary science-fiction novel, written in 1930 yet strikingly relevant today, Neon Dance explores the possible futures of humankind. Blending dance, live music and cinema, the company creates a work of profound philosophical resonance – a meditation on humanity and its relationship with the world around it.
