In a not-so-distant future, a human race – a mirror of our own? – stands on the brink of extinction. Almost nothing remains of the world they once inhabited, except for abandoned monuments, solitary and surreal, like the last witnesses of their passage through landscapes reclaimed by nature. And so, these last humans tell their story to the first humans – to us? –speaking of what they built, and of what they so desperately lacked to prevent collapse.

Inspired by Olaf Stapledon’s revolutionary science-fiction novel, written in 1930 yet strikingly relevant today, Neon Dance explores the possible futures of humankind. Blending dance, live music and cinema, the company creates a work of profound philosophical resonance – a meditation on humanity and its relationship with the world around it.

Before the performance begins, you can attend the dance performance Sil free of charge at 7:45 pm in the exhibition space. Conceived and performed by Frank Gizycki, this performance is part of the exhibition “J’ai vu des gens faits de rêves” (I Have Seen People Made of Dreams) by Lore Stessel.

Frank studied dance in Lyon and Dakar and graduated from P.A.R.T.S. (class of 2016).

He has danced in several Rosas productions. He is also a member of the Figure Ensemble, which explores connections between performance, jazz, and opera.

Lore Stessel often photographs dancers. This allows her to bring them out of the theatre and capture them in a different setting, giving them the opportunity to slow down and extend the intensity of their moments of connection.
