This is the story of an outcast who sacrifices himself for the happiness of a child that fate entrusts him with, a woman reduced to selling herself, a tireless and fanatical policeman, a cheeky and independent street urchin, a constantly-tested conscience, a chase, iniquitous justice. It is the story of a population in disarray that rises up and defends its ideals until death. This theatre piece glows in the subtleties of its art and honours Hugo.
