Does presenting a performance take away the pleasure of discovering it? For MOVEMENTS OF SOUL, choreographer YAV, originally from Congo, takes a bold risk and deliberately chooses not to describe his piece with words.

With this unconventional approach, he refuses to dictate what the audience should see or feel, and instead invites us to let go and allow ourselves to be surprised by the movements, sounds and images. Caught between the absence of narrative and a deliberate ambiguity, the piece plays with the unspoken and with sensations, reminding us that the deepest emotions sometimes arise from what is ineffable – as a new way of engaging in a personal and singular reflection on the perception of art.

Singer, dancer, producer and model, YAV — who has collaborated with world-renowned names such as Beyoncé and Calvin Klein — invites us through his singular artistic approach to experience art differently, to be carried by dance and music, and to savour every moment to the fullest.
