“I, Ennio Morricone, am dead,” wrote the composer as he bid farewell. Yet his music cannot die.
Such is the fate of creators and artists, who leave us without ever truly departing, and such is the role of memory, which watches over them and keeps them alive.
An offering, a fervent tribute to the beauty he gifted to the world: this is the essence of Notte Morricone.
A creation that takes us on a journey through the scores of this genius composer — the little boy who once dreamed of becoming a doctor, an indefatigable chess player, the boy who lamented his inability to play the trumpet like the great Chet Baker — perhaps because destiny had already reserved him another place in the pantheon of music.
With his new production for sixteen dancers, Spanish choreographer Marcos Morau — renowned for his visionary power and ability to transform musical worlds — presents a unique creation that intertwines Ennio Morricone’s music with dance, visual arts, and cinematic evocations, like an evening inside the imagination of this visionary artist.
