Oskar et Bianca

In a hospital room, three sisters are gathered around their mother Bianca, plunged into a coma following open-heart surgery. Oskar, the father, mute, disoriented, and weakened by the imminent loss of the one who has accompanied him throughout his entire life, will soon join her, thus reforming the inseparable couple they have always been, both in life and on stage, when, as music hall artists, they shared it together.

From the hospital to the funeral home, passing through the family home, the extraordinary past life of these ordinary parents unfolds through scenes, the difficulties of an existence marked by radical choices driven by necessity and passion, but also those of their daughters, their childhood, their struggles to manage their elderly parents, and their inability to bid farewell one last time to these whimsical artists.

Filled with vital energy and salutary humor, the new creation by the Pop-Up Company questions with poetry and lucidity the way we look at elderly people, examines the memory and transmission of our elders, combining pleasure and reflection, as a tribute to these “elders” who, during their long and adventurous journey, often seemed more alive than the young people around them.
