Touch me / Taste me / Trade me Gurshad Shaheman
An outstanding artist, Gurshad Shaheman has shunned theatrical conventions for more unexpected forms. Pourama Pourama is a an auto-fictional triptych where the spectator’s role is reconsidered. In Touch me, the performer remembers his early childhood in 1980s Iran, with a strict father. In Taste me, he invites us to share a traditional Iranian meal with, as the backdrop, his adolescence spent with his mother, their exile from Iran and the beginnings of him learning French. Trade me closes this search for identity and confirms his emancipation from parental figures. Amalgamated with history and not hiding anything of the intimate, this hybrid scenic piece oscillates between theatre, performance and sound installation.
