As the first part of a triptych exploring questions of group dynamics, individuality, and space, the Franco-Catalan circus and performing arts company Baro d’evel, with “Qui som?” – which translates to “Who are we?” in English – addresses the profound question that occupies our troubled times.

Who do we want to become? How can we allow ourselves, despite the ruins and the acknowledgment of disaster, to invent a narrative, a fiction like a ceremony to open desirable paths? True to its identity, which sees performance as a ceremony, a genuine celebration of re-enchantment, the company brings together on stage dancers, musicians, actors, acrobats, ceramists, clowns, and artists from various backgrounds and generations to collectively create a grandiose ritual, where movement and rhythm will guide the project, the strength of the group.

An ode to exuberance and togetherness, “Qui som?” summons all disciplines and transforms the theater space into a new home to be embraced – always with a deliberate intent to overflow and surpass codes – where hospitality, welcome, and encounter take center stage. An immersive journey, a story punctuated by the unexpected, the present, the mishaps, and the stubbornness to be, to become.
