After the international successes of Malcolm X and Dear Winnie, both presented at Théâtre de Liège in 2017 and 2022 respectively, the Jr.cE.sA.r company found themselves with an unexpected hangover. Changing the world turns out to be much harder than expected. And then… what can theater really mean in a world overheated by incessant bomb showers? What can dialogue still accomplish in a world where laughter has replaced cynicism, in cities where fears and addictions seem to be stronger forces now than those that should unite us all?
Welcome to our new world! An absurd universe ruled by social networks, where everyone has become their own guide, their own hero. But amidst all these idiotic idolatries, are there not new paths waiting for us to finally bring them to life?
So join these reckless idiots in search of absolution! Seize the invitation extended by Junior Mthombeni, Cesar Janssens, and Fikry El Azzouzi for a delirious carnival parade of actors, writers, and musicians who have joined the revolution with broad smiles. The world is at our smiling feet… So let’s observe it, and laugh at it together.
