Toujours de 3/4 face !

Loraine Dambermont

‘Always face them at a ¾ angle!’ If Johnny Cadillac — former karateka and Johnny Halliday’s most famous doppelganger — only had one piece of advice to give you to defend yourself in an attack, it would be this!

An attentive pupil, Loraine Dambermont, choreographer and performer, follows these instructions to the letter to create an atypical solo performance, presented as a live self-defence tutorial, a survival guide for the prowling chaos and dangers that await us. In a performance of extreme intensity, the choreographer from Liège assumes the features of this eccentric character, takes ownership of this exuberant virility with her sometimes fragile, sometimes lethal female body, borrows from the codes of hip-hop and martial arts and delivers a score full of self-deprecation, which flirts with surrealism, but which implicitly reminds us of the urgency of taking action.

C’est toi qu’on adore

Leïla Ka

Two dancers leap on a bare stage, dressed in the same grey, plain, loose clothing, as if they were physical incarnations of one soul, one energy. The fast, energetic movements, sometimes mirroring one another, sometimes in opposition — as if to emphasise an internal struggle — seem to be fighting until exhaustion an adversity that we guess at, but which we don’t yet know anything about…

Drawing her influences from both dance and theatre, Leïla Ka has been developing choreographic writing for several years where one dances as much as one tells a story. For C’est toi qu’on adore, she delivers a choreography with a spirit full of authenticity for two bodies with infinite identities, a cry of hope where the body exalts its dearest possession: the life force that keeps us standing, facing towards and against everything!
