As part of Piano Day, the iconic Anna Teresa De Keersmaeker presents her latest piece, accompanied by pianist Pavel Kolesnikov, as sole performer. These Goldberg variations are an extraordinary layering of harmonies, rhythms and technical refinement, which poses an exceptional challenge for dancers: to create a shape that is continuously transforming, yet revolving around a fixed core. The dancer and the pianist perform symbiotically in this choreography, which comprises countless intertwining movements of fascinating precision, while Pavel Kolesnikov demonstrates an extraordinary sense of lyricism and articulation.
