The talented Zabou Breitman, in collaboration with composer Reinhardt Wagner, adapts and stages Zazie dans le métro by Raymond Queneau into a musical comedy.

This delirious and subversive coming-of-age novel was published in 1959 and was adapted for cinema the following year by Louis Malle. Zazie is a young girl with a crude tongue and a strong character. She arrives in Paris for the first time with the firm intention of taking the metro. The young girl – who is rude, but not vulgar – is entrusted to the care of her uncle, Gabriel, who is said to be gay. It should be noted that Zazie has escaped sexual abuse by her father, who was killed by her mother with an axe, and attempts to kiss her by her stepfather. Insults, puns and slang give way to musical escape, which are accompanied by orchestral compositions infused with a 1960s style, as well as realist songs, Kurt Weill, jazz and java.
