Antigone

SLAVOJ ŽIŽEK / ANGELA RICHTER
28/01/2020 29/01/2020
  • Duur: 1h25
  • Location : Salle de la Grande Main

The tragedy that Sophocles devoted to Antigone – a young girl who defies the ruling class by defying the ban issued by the King when she decides to bury her brother – becomes for the prestigious Slovenian philosopher Slavoj Žižek, a tool for reflection on the current social and political relations between governments and citizens. A political exercise in the manner of Brecht’s didactic works, Žižek proposes three possible ends to the tragedy, leaving the public free to decide the fate of a contemporary Antigone.
