It all begins with a crisis.
An asthma attack.
A terrible asthma attack.
An attack so terrible that she sees herself dying.
An attack so terrible that he believes he sees her dying.
Despair rises.
Their voices are breathless.
They search for a taxi.
They rush to the hospital.
To the emergency room.
The man waits. Alone. Behind a partition. A doctor arrives.
“How is she?”

And then time stretches.
Memories resurface, and the entire life of a couple is recounted.
The life of a couple, with their baby who sings himself to sleep, grows up, becomes a teenager, an adult, and eventually leaves home.
The life of a couple with their dreams of travel, of a garden.
The life of a couple growing old, with endless walks.
The story of two lives that lived only one.

By juxtaposing two slightly different versions of the same events, Tiago Rodrigues crafts, with remarkable writing, a lyrical play where the life of two lovers unfolds on stage — a love that challenges the passage of time.
