  • Duur: 5h10 (with intermission)
  • Location : Salle de la Grande Main

Krystian Lupa is an all-round theatre creative who has been the recipient of a number of awards. She is considered to be one of the finest directors in Europe. The Polish artist presents a journey into the world of counter-culture, during the identity and cultural revolution of the 1960s and 1970s, and returns to the psychological and spiritual New Age phenomenon. The point of departure is the song by John Lennon, who, as the ‘new Jesus’ of the hippy era, invited listeners to imagine a world without war, without countries, without hate, without property and, also, without religion. The play examines the vitality of utopias in the contemporary world, a world in which spirituality has been either commercialised or politicised, a world in which humanism, human rights, equality and personal liberty have lost their value. A top-end cast analyses how certain opinions, ideas and intuitions, all of which are categorised as ‘utopian’, may become necessary in order to survive the next fifty years. Can we explain why our faith in the transformation of humanity has been lost? Let’s talk about everything we could have done that we didn’t do…
