L’école des Maîtres, édition spéciale
- Location : Salle de la Grande Main
École des Maîtres is a theatrical training programme dedicated to young actors who are already working professionally. It aims to exchange skills regarding directing methods and practices through yearly travelling workshops, which are led by the greatest directors of our time (Christiane Jatahy, Tiago Rodriguez, Angélica Liddell, etc.).
Due to the pandemic, the 2020 edition was replaced by a special edition for eight young European playwrights, under the direction of Italian playwright Davide Carnevali. The project for this special edition is called Speech and the absent body: A playwriting laboratory in exceptional circumstances.
Each of the young playwrights worked to produce their own play, in collaboration with Davide Carnevali and the group. The finished texts are now presented publicly during theatrical readings, in the different countries that are part of the École des Maîtres partnership. Alongside its partners from the Comédie de Reims and the Comédie de Caen, the Théâtre de Liège is presenting all eight texts, read by a French and Belgian cast and overseen by director Aurore Fattier and Jonathan Mallard
