Written in 1960 by the Irishman Samuel Beckett, the piece Oh les beaux jours (Happy Days) is a masterpiece with the language, between apparent simplicity and great evocative power, a rare degree of perfection. In a desert landscape of burned grass, Winnie, a pretty woman in her fifties, is buried up to her waist. Next to her, a bag of objects reminding her of the pleasures and trivialities of existence. Naturally quiet and a little behind, her partner, Willie, has his own concerns.  Michael Delaunoy stages this tragic and tender piece which opens a door to the abyss found in each of us and testifies with humour of our ability to remain worthy, in spite of everything.
