In this piece, author and actress Geneviève Damas tackles the idea of the traditional couple and how to exist in a world for two. A pillar of our social organisation and a structure that is at once protective and oppressive, the couple is not to be confused with love or family, but is assimilated with the idea of freedom. Thanks to Guillemette Laurent’s careful and joyful staging, this fun variation mixes reality, fiction, mythology and other diverse elements to create new perspectives on the traditional couple. It is the story of adventurers who, like Ulysses, have taken a long journey and, after travelling the world, yearn to return home. Quand tu es revenu is a jubilant and explosive dialogue about the couple and their strange changes and adjustments.
