Last March, Une mort dans la famille introduced us to the excellence of Alexander Zeldin. The English playwright continues his exploration of our social reality through the dramatisation of the life of a working-class Australian woman, from her birth in 1943 until her death, where the play concludes.

This intimate story about destiny is told through the most secret passages about those she has loved. The history of Australia unfolds in parallel, from the post-war period to the present century, from the small town of Kiama to the character’s exile in London. This is one of those distant voyages that many people undertake only to then miss their homeland. Every life is a testament to the past, an experience with certain forces that shape our time, an attempt to face and overcome the vicissitudes of an era and a heroic search for happiness.
