Olga de Soto {Brussels}
08/02/2018 09/02/2018
  • Duur: 55'
  • Location : Salle de l’Œil vert

For several years, Olga de Soto tracked down both dancers and spectators of one of the founding works of the history of dance, Kurt Jooss’ La Table verte (1932) that denounces the rise of fascism. Acting as a historian, the Spanish dancer and choreographer, based in Brussels, collects testimonies and archives which led her to endless conclusions. This research has given rise to two plays: Une Introduction and Débords.  Here she reflects upon the encounters, mankind, her personal story, and the marks that her vertiginous quest left upon her body, her imagination, and in her dance that the research nearly eclipsed. She returns to the stage and creates an epic and political tale, not devoid of humour. With an infinitely graceful dance, with speech, the relay of knowledge, vector of emotion, and with a disarming simplicity, she provides us with a solo of rare beauty.
