A resounding success that dazzled the audience at the 76th edition of the Festival of Avignon, One Song. Histoire(s) du Théâtre IV is without any doubt the most off-the-wall, original and primitive response to the question asked by NTGent: ‘What’s your story as a creator?’.

As the fourth artist to seize on this question, Miet Warlop sketches a response like no other can give. A plastic artist by training, the Belgian creator throws twelve artists into an arena that looks like a gymnasium for a fascinating ritual surrounding farewells, life and death, hope and resurrection. Built like an echo of her own work, from which we find the traces of previous performances here and there, One Song wonderfully evokes our human condition – through sung texts, intensive sport, rehearsals and sweat – which is capable, through collective strength, of transcending all hardships.
