After By heart and Sopro, Tiago Rodrigues returns with The Cherry Orchard by Anton Chekhov, accompanied by the sublime Isabelle Huppert. In this final play by the Russian playwright, the elusive character of Lyubov Andreievna Ranevskaya returns to her family after a lover has left her ruined. The property and its enchanted cherry orchard are auctioned to a rich merchant, Lopakhin. In this play, Chekhov evokes a period of profound societal change, which is beneficial to some and a source of concern for others. The Orchard Cherry, according to Anton Chekhov, is about looking at ourselves, here and now.
