Les Brigands

From20/03 on22/03/2024 Salle de l’Œil vert

Isabelle Gyselinx

Bruno spent his entire childhood in a children’s home. Having been beaten by his father, he fled the family home and turned himself over to the police.

At the age of ten, Bruno discovered Michelangelo at the cinema, accompanied by his Polish grandmother. At fifteen, he discovered the artist’s sculptures during a school trip to Florence. Then he discovered his poetry and letters. His discovery of the Italian master, and Bruno’s placement, were triggered elements to somehow escape from his father’s violent abuse. Bruno’s story is fictional, but based on real events. By reflecting his life through the melancholic and ecstatic poetry of Michelangelo – for which Michel Kozuck has composed harmonies – Isabelle Gyselinx mounts an incredible elegy to art and its liberating power through Les Brigands .
