Automata: the science of art
The figure of the scientific artist or the artist scientist has crossed the history following the winding, hazardous and sometimes poetic paths of experimentation. Digital technologies make it possible to rethink the contours of artistic disciplines by promoting hybridization and innovation. This exhibition, part of the Maison de la Science in Liège, explores the many facets privileged by the crossing of these entities, appropriately positioning digital art in the history of science and technology, between sensitive and pragmatics, aesthetics and pedagogy, innovation and performance.
This exhibition will bring together interactive installations by the Scenocosme artist couple.
For several years, Scenocosme (Grégory Lasserre and Anaïs met den Ancxt) creates interactive works in a singular approach of hybridization between natural and technological elements. These installations question our relations to the environment (natural, social, technological) through all our senses (sight, touch, hearing).
From physics to digital, from interfaces to surfaces, it is the entire biological dimension of digital that Scenocosme interrogates in its installations.
