For over 20 years, the ÉMULATION Festival has championed new works and young companies on the French-speaking Belgian theatre scene, and is now established as a key event in Liège’s cultural calendar. In the heart of spring, it is the theatre scene’s renewal that drops anchor on the banks of the Meuse to take over the ‘Fiery City’ and set the city’s theatres alight.

With a diverse range of formats, fascinating themes and surprising adaptations, this^12thedition promises once again to be a place of discovery and a testament to the vitality of the young talent emerging from the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.

True to its traditions, the Émulation Festival will once again award two prizes at the end of this vibrant week: the Émulation Prize, awarded by a jury of performing arts professionals from across Europe, and the Young People’s Choice Award, awarded by a jury of secondary school pupils.
