The author, actor and director Ismaël Saidi (Djihad, Jérusalem, Eden) needs no introduction; his work constantly creates a dialogue between the personal and the political. With his theatre of urgency, he uses comedy as a weapon of mass deconstruction against hate speech. By rejecting moralising pathos, he tackles taboos head-on: radicalism, anti-Semitism, homophobia and identity struggles. Through his art, he breaks down invisible boundaries to elevate dialogue and tolerance to the status of a societal emergency.
With his new production, he takes us on a journey to discover three characters; three women; three stories. One day, they find themselves, without really knowing why, in a strange room. They have been summoned for what appears to be… a final round. The one before the final journey… Stuck there, they have nothing else to do but talk. Through words, silences and memories, tongues loosen, wounds emerge and something, slowly, takes hold.
Between hearty laughter and uncomfortable truths, Dernier tour weaves a powerful narrative, carried by three women’s voices from different backgrounds, brought together in the midst of a suspended moment.
