Performance premiered on 31 October 2026 at the Théâtre de Liège
At the foot of a tree, a bronze basin filled with black water vibrates to the rhythm of sounds travelling through the space. Reclining in a semi-supine position, the audience allows itself to be enveloped by rustling, vibrations, shifting patterns of light, scents and suspended materials.
Inspired by Dodona, an ancient sanctuary where people listened to the wind rustling through the leaves to foretell the future, Remains takes us on a sensory and contemplative journey to the threshold between the visible and the invisible.
The final instalment of Éric Arnal-Burtschy’s trilogy, begun with Deep are the woods and Je suis une montagne, this immersive experience invites us to feel the slow disappearance of a world, its transformation and the emergence of another form of life. A poetic passage in which humanity fades away, allowing nature to reclaim its place.
