With emotions, lucidity and quirky, surrealist humour, a calm little woman tells us about the world she lives in. Every Friday, she does her shopping before going to work. In the leisure aisle, where all the non-essential yet enjoyable items are found, a burnt, hairless orangutan jumps into her trolley. From this moment on, convinced that the end of the world is nigh, Madame M reaches her breaking point and her whole existence is thrown into disarray. In this ‘one-woman’ play by the Liège theatre women’s theatre company Espèces de…, Madame M questions the action of engaging, succumbing to, or fleeing ecological and human disaster in a generous, touching and funny repertoire.
