The British playwright and radio presenter Alan Bennett tells us about his incredible cohabitation with the homeless woman Miss Shepherd. One day, this eccentric old woman in rags asks permission to park her van – which is also her home – on the author’s drive in the heart of London. Too polite to refuse, Alan Bennett then starts to coexist with her for nearly twenty years, during which he attempts to uncover the mystery of this difficult woman. With a stream of characters surrounding the outstanding Belgian actress Jacqueline Bir, Alain Leempoel pays homage to her prodigious career and extensive talent, on behalf of the whole profession !
