CHRISTMAS AT THE THEATRE
Show premiered on 27 September 2023 at Équinoxe – Scène nationale de Châteauroux
Freestyle football is an urban discipline, akin to dance. It is the art of juggling, blending multiple artistic, sporting and acrobatic disciplines, with a football as its sole instrument.
Mouton noir is Paul Molina, who has taken up this new, still little-known but oh-so-spectacular art form. On stage, everything hinges on a ball: at any moment, in a fraction of a second, everything can change – just like fate.
Mouton noir is also the story of this endearing young man who chose to break free from the monotonous and vicious cycle of conformist social success to embrace a career as a top-level athlete and artist. On stage, his story unfolds to the rhythm of his dances and acrobatics, and his striking freestyle displays.
Mouton noir leaves no one indifferent. Children, teenagers and adults alike recognise something of themselves in it, a familiar, almost intimate emotion. Poised between virtuosity and fragility, Mouton noir is an experience that is both impressive and deeply human, inviting everyone to listen to that inner voice, all too often drowned out by the clamour of the world.
