Christina, owner of a chemical company, and Michael, her young partner whom she met after the death of her first husband, are enjoying their holiday in their seaside villa in Greece and awaiting the birth of their first child. Their life is sweet and peaceful; but when Robert, Christina’s brother, confronts Michael—who has launched an investigation into an accident that could be the cause of groundwater contamination—this day of happiness is shattered. Arguments escalate, and when Theresa, Christina’s best friend, brings further bad news, it is no longer just the company’s existence that is under threat, but that of the entire family…
With her powerful writing and sharp sense of dialogue, Maja Zade updates the ancient myth of Oedipus to better explore how lives – always hanging by a thread – can be shattered in a single moment.
The young and talented Héloïse Ravet pays homage to the theatre of the stage and delivers a production that showcases a dazzling cast, whose performances draw us into exploring our deepest, darkest secrets.
