A Place of Safety – A Journey into the Central Mediterranean

When the members of the Italian theatre company Kepler-452 board a ship carrying out search and rescue missions in the central Mediterranean, they don’t know exactly what they’re looking for. They only know that, for a long time, they’ve been hearing about what’s happening just a few kilometres off the Italian coast. Perhaps it is time to go and see for themselves what is happening along the world’s deadliest migration route…

From this experience will emerge A Place of Safety, a play designed to draw attention to our continent’s collective blind spot: what is happening in the central Mediterranean.

Nieuwe generaties in het Europees Theater verkennen en verbinden. Exploring and connecting new generations in European Theatre.

Soutenue par la Commission européenne, Prospero NEW est la première plateforme européenne dédiée à l’émergence artistique dans le secteur du théâtre, rassemblant 22 acteurs clés de la scène théâtrale, dans le but de soutenir plus de 200 artistes européens à travers un programme de tournées, de coproductions, de résidences et de mentorat.

Pour la première fois, les deux partenaires belges du projet – le Théâtre de Liège et le NTGent – unissent leurs forces pour proposer deux semaines de programmation commune, affirmant ainsi leur engagement partagé en faveur de la scène européenne émergente.
