Hunger, Franck Vigroux’s new electronic opera, traces the initiatory journey of a character who, under the mounting pressure of modernity, finds their deepest-buried archaic instincts resurfacing.
Against the backdrop of a rural landscape marked by rural exodus and uprooting, electronic music, video and light become animated presences, engaging in dialogue with the voice and the stage to create an immersive, polyphonic performance.
Through a dense artistic language shaped from sound, gesture and image, Hunger brings forth a shifting inner landscape, traversed by memory, instinct and the transformations of the contemporary world.
